Independent Judiciary

by Lee Allen Martin

An Independent Judiciary is necessary to the protection of all rights. In the nation that we live now, ignorance of the law may be no excuse, but it certainly does not eliminate this ignorance. From bureaucracy to our homes, from driving crimes to OJ, ignorance of the law abounds.

The pledge issue has caused an out cry for more control of the judiciary. But, this out cry is for the wrong reasons. The wording of the 1st amendment is such that a person could find that pledge as mandated in public schools does violate the 1st amendment.

Now how do you change that. You can appeal the 1st amendment. You can appeal the decision. To threaten the independence of the judiciary is to make all of us subservient to the whims of government. Dick Army, Trent Lott and Dick Gephardt determining how a court will rule. Does that not scare you?

Our problems with the judiciary today comes from ex parte communications and the fact our judges are in bed with the state. Now this issue calls for the common sense approach to law. Which is what, that common sense says we should all be protestant? The first Americans were Indians should we not protect their religion? Oh yeah I forgot we did outlaw the ghost dance.

We can not yell freedom of religion, but only allow our religion to be freely practiced. Are we going to ask a 6 year old to be the only one in their class not to say the pledge? What does the Pledge say? Anymore than an oath of office? I have been just recently told that for the state and judicial employees to know their oath is just to much to ask. So what is the value of the pledge? There is none except as propaganda. It does not proclaim the greatness of GOD. In fact is makes GOD subservient to Man. It endows government with a position coveted by Caesar. In 1000 years have we not come farther than that?

I am a Christian. I love my Savior not as a dead man, but as a living part of my life. My Savior tells me that none will come to the kingdom of heaven because of a law. None will come to the Kingdom of Heaven because of a pledge. We are saved on OUR own merits. It is an individual a personal relationship that the LORD has with each of us. The LORD does not protect and defend nations. The LORD protects and defends all men and women in a personal manner.

I ask all of you do not fall for this crap that The LORD is guiding a government for he is not. The government has a LORD, but it is not my Savior. Common Sense says it is time to stand up and fight for the Judge in California so we may protect an independent judiciary, because if we do not soon it will be much worse.
